Di artikel kali ini kita akan membahas tentang perbedaan penggunaan ‘there is’ dan ‘there are’ beserta contoh kalimatnya.

Dalam Bahasa Indonesia kata ‘There is’ dan ‘There are’ sering diterjemahkan dengan ‘ada’.

‘There is’ dan ‘there are’ biasanya digunakan untuk menyatakan bahwa sesuatu itu ada atau pun tidak ada (something exists or doesn’t exist)

Penggunaan ‘There is’ biasanya diikuti oleh Singular noun  atau uncountable noun. Sedang penggunaan ‘There are’ biasanya diikuti oleh Plural noun

Positive Sentence :

1.  There is a swimming near my house

2.  There is a whiteboard in our classroom

3.  There is some sugar in my jar

4.  There is much milk in the fridge

5.  There are some schools in Purwokerto

6.  There are five people in this room

7.  There are seven bedrooms in our house

8.  There are many people waiting for you.

Negetive Sentence

1.  There isn’t an airport in Purwokerto

2.  There isn’t a car in your house.

3.  There isn’t any coffee in my kitchen

4.  There isn’t enough flour for the cake

5.  There aren’t enough eggs to make cheese cake

6.  There aren’t any glasses here

7.  There aren’t any teachers at school

8.  There aren’t many people doing it

Interogative Sentence

1.  Is there a railway station in Purbalingga?

2.  Is there a five star hotel in your town?

3.  Is there snow in Indonesia?

4.  Is there any salt here?

5.  Are there private schools in Cilacap?

6.  Are there 20 students in your class now?

7.  Are there enough rooms for them?

8.  Are there any car in our showroom?
